New music and technology gathering, IPx, to launch in Zurich next year
IPx will host its first edition on 11-12 August 2022.
A new music and tech gathering is launching in Switzerland next summer. Entitled IPx, the Zurich-based event will bring together professionals and figures from the global music and technology industries, inviting participants to consider the future of the music industry with technology in mind.
IPx’s first edition, which will take place on 11-12 August 2022, will offer a programme of keynotes speeches and themed sessions, with much of the schedule focused on challenging outmoded methods and embracing new ideas surrounding the future of music and technology. IPx developers also aim to build a like-minded community by making the programme open-sourced, with participants acting as collective co-designers.
Richard Zijlma, former Director of ADE (Amsterdam Dance Event) as well as former General Manager of the Eurosonic Noorderslag conference, is at the helm of IPx.
“After my journey at ADE, I started working on several projects, all of them of course music-related. I always like the process of starting new projects, as well joining them from the beginning and to slowly bring them to life,” Zijlma said in a statement. “There is a global movement that works towards a fairer revenue stream for every artist. With IPx we are aiming to accelerate this process, in order to shape the future of the music industry together.”
The gathering is set to be held at several venues in Zurich’s city centre, with more details to be announced in the coming weeks, including how to apply.
More information will be made available via the IPx website.
