RCRDSHP – a new marketplace for electronic music collectibles – has launched, and subsequently sold out, its first drop of NFTs from a range of artists, labels and festivals. RCRDSHP styles itself on being NBA Top Shot for music, focussing on collectibles delivered as NFTs, covering everything from exclusive tracks, a video clip from backstage, visual artwork and more. The collectibles are sold in packs that all originally cost $9: the first drop – which was called GENESIS and has already sold out – and each collectible can then be collected and enjoyed by the fan, re-sold on the marketplace, or used as in-game mechanics to unlock special features. According to RCRDSHP, they “offer record labels and established independent artists a platform to offer new releases and reissue back catalogue titles as exclusive, limited edition digital assets stored on a secure global blockchain as NFTs. Our partnership with Mattereum makes those assets legal property in 136 countries.”
The GENESIS drop of collectibles featured NFTs from the likes of Toolroom Records, Yousef’s Circus Recordings, Mobilee Records and Sharam Jay’s Bunnytiger.
