Skrillex Drops Surprise EP ‘hit me where it hurts x’

Skrillex gives us ‘hit me where it hurts x‘, a five-track EP that expands on his album ‘FCK U SKRILLEX YOU THINK UR ANDY WARHOL BUT UR NOT!! <3>‘. The project arrives with a mix of Skrillex’s production style and fresh collaborators. This release became reality after Skrillex released ‘fuze‘, ‘Hit me where it hurts x‘, and his Grammy nomination, ‘Voltage‘.

The EP opens with ‘fuze‘, a collaboration with ISOxo that embodies Skrillex’s early dubstep energy. Next is ‘while you were sleeping‘, created with Virtual Riot and Nakeesha. This track’s arrangement sounds like it came out of Skrillex’s massive 2023 album ‘Quest for Fire‘. Moving on, ‘move ting‘ follows with Moody Good and Nakeesha. This one pushes the low end forward and drives the rhythm with big bass and vocal chops. The title track, hit me where it hurts x‘, brings Dylan Brady and Caroline Polachek for a percussive and dance master piece. The EP ends with “voltage (see you again)”, built with Varg2™, Whitearmor, LOAM, Virtual Riot, and swedm®. Skrillex revisits the Grammy-nominated ‘VOLTAGE‘ he originally wrote in 2010. He rebuilds it with hyperpop-style production and brand-new vocals. The track feels emotional, melodic, and powerful.

Skrillex continues to lead the electronic music scene through fearless experimentation. His rise began in 2010 when his early releases like ‘Scary Monsters and Nice Sprites‘ and remixes gained global attention. Over time, he developed a distinct style defined by his vocal chop and synth sound design, percussive rhythms, and bold creative arrangement choices. Skrillex is very well known at the Grammy Awards, with 20 nominations and winning 9 of them. In 2026, he will be back with multiple nominations, including Best Dance/Electronic Album and Best Dance/Electronic Recording. His signature influence remains unmatched as he continues to innovate through new releases, global performances, and evolving creative projects.
