SOUNDBOKS Mix Aims to Balance Power, Portability, and Battery Life

SOUNDBOKS has introduced a new entry into its portable speaker lineup with the Soundboks Mix, and the positioning is clear from the start. This is a speaker built for movement across different environments, from small indoor sessions to outdoor gatherings, with a focus on maintaining consistent output and usability across those contexts.

The company is framing this release around flexibility in real-world use. According to the announcement, the Soundboks Mix is designed to handle a wide range of social scenarios without requiring users to compromise between output level, portability, or durability.

A portable speaker built for mixed environments

What stands out in this release is how SOUNDBOKS is trying to balance size, output, and usability without pushing the product into a single use case. The Soundboks Mix is described as lightweight enough to move easily while still delivering high output levels, with a stated maximum of 121 dB.

That kind of output places it firmly in the category of speakers that can handle outdoor use without relying on additional reinforcement. At the same time, the company emphasizes that the speaker can scale down effectively for lower-volume environments, which matters for users who are moving between settings like apartments, studios, and outdoor spaces.

The inclusion of multiple sound profiles and adjustable EQ through the companion app also points to a more controlled listening experience. Instead of a fixed tuning, users can shape playback depending on the environment, which is increasingly standard in this category but still important when the product is positioned as an all-purpose solution.

Battery, durability, and system expansion

Battery performance and durability are central to how this product is being positioned. The Soundboks Mix offers up to 40 hours of playback at mid volume and around eight hours at maximum output, with a swappable battery system that allows for continuous use without downtime.

From a build perspective, the speaker uses an IP65-rated electronics coating, which means it is protected against dust and resistant to water exposure. That aligns with how SOUNDBOKS expects the product to be used in outdoor and unpredictable environments where conditions are not controlled.

There is also a system-level angle here. Through TeamUp connectivity, users can link up to five compatible SOUNDBOKS speakers for stereo or expanded coverage. That allows the Mix to operate as a standalone unit or as part of a larger setup, depending on the scale of the event.

The product is officially available” on 3/26 at $799, which places it in a mid-to-high tier within the portable speaker category.
