1. “ROCK THE HOUSE” – DEMI RIQUÍSIMO & THE TRIP [SEMI DELICIOUS]
“Rock The House is an absolute delight. With its warm, chord stabs and the Lady Kier sample, it combines nostalgia with the desire for anything by Demi Riquísimo.
2. “DON’T GO AWAY” – DEMI RIQUÍSIMO & THE TRIP [SEMI DELICIOUS]
Demi Riquísimo‘s title track is a banger and a half that requires maximum volume. Turn it up.
3. “ON A ROLL” – DEMI RIQUÍSIMO & THE TRIP [SEMI DELICIOUS]
“On A Roll” has a character of its own on Demi Riquísimo‘s Don’t Go Away EP. Slightly wonky and a tad bit, off-kilter, it’s the unlikely gem on the four-track collection.
4. “MIDNIGHT SHIFT” – DEMI RIQUÍSIMO & THE TRIP [SEMI DELICIOUS]
“Midnight Shift” is the final of the four but it checks all the proverbial boxes when it comes to playfully, euphoric house music.
5. “OFFENBACH” – KRYSTAL KLEAR [RUNNING BACK]
Krystal Klear’s “Offenbach” is a mighty, piano weapon that builds as high as the heavens.
6. “NOTHING WRONG (LOVE MIX)” – OMRI. [CROSSTOWN REBELS]
OMRI. (pronounced “OMRI dot”) steps into the spotlight with this debut on Crosstown Rebels that transcends the club in a similar vein to the early days of Hot Creations. Deep and minimal with a touch of funk highlighted by an infectious vocal to keep it around all Summer long.
7. “NOWHERE I’D RATHER BE” – FOLAMOUR [ALL NIGHT LONG]
Folamour‘s massive, new album includes this superb effort that features keyboard work which’ll send tingles down your spine.
8. “GIRLS & BOYS” – WH0 [REKIDS]
Back in the Summer of ’94, “Girls + Boys” by Hed Boys was the floor-filling weapon. Why Wh0 didn’t give artist credit to the original duo is beyond me but a tip of the cap to him for updating the tune with a unrestrained bass-line that rivals the best of them.
9. “LET’S CHAT” – GOJNEA76 [DISTROKID]
“Let’s Chat” by Gojnea76 is a dirty roller that doesn’t follow the usual template when it comes to house music.
10. “PUNISHER BRAILA” – GOJNEA76 [DISTROKID]
Nagging, ex-girlfriend vibes on the title track, “Punisher Braila.”
11. “UNTIL SUNRISE (SAAND REMIX)” – XAMXARA [MUSIC IS 4 LOVERS]
SAAND is one of the finer producers that Southern California has produced over the past decade or so and his exquisite remix of “Until Sunrise” is a testament to the level of quality he is a capable of. Watch this space.
12. “DANCING” – GRIGORÉ & SERVE COLD X JAGUAR JAGUAR [DEFECTED]
“We’re both big fans of soul and neo-soul, especially inspired by artists like Jungle and Khruangbin. So we reached out to Jaguar Jaguar and the guys were totally down for the collab…”– Grigoré & Serve Cold
13. “THE ULTIMATE” – MIKE MOMBURG & RADIO CARGO [DANSU DISCS]
’90s euro-house vibes on this speedy jam that Job Jobse has been throwing down lately.
14. “WORK (SUPER FLU REMIX)” – KEVIN MCKAY, PUPA NAS T, DENISE BELFON [GLASGOW UNDERGROUND]
Denise Belfon’s “Work” has been sampled quite heavily over the years and here on Glasgow Underground, Super Flu usher it into 2025 with their own afro-house interpretation of the Soca classic.
15. “CAN’T DENY (KID FONQUE REFIX)” – BENNI OLA [NEEDWANT]
Kid Fonque is responsible for this organic makeover that belongs in your next Keinemusik-inspired set.
