The Avicii video game is getting a VR edition
The Avicii video game will be released in a VR format later this month.
After launching Avicii Invector — a video game celebrating the life and work of the late Avicii AKA Tim Bergling — globally in 2019, Hello There Games and Tim’s father, Klas Bergling, have announced the next version of the game.
Titled Avicii Invector: Encore Edition, the game features 35 Avicii productions, including ‘Peace of Mind’, ‘Freak’ and ‘S.O.S’, and will be released as a VR game for Meta Quest 2.
Avicii Invector: Encore Edition will be release on the 27th January, and is available to pre-order here. All music royalties from each copy of the game sold will go to the Tim Bergling Foundation, which advocates for the recognition of suicide as a global health emergency and actively works to remove the stigma attached to suicide and mental health issues.
In November last year, A copy of Avicii’s ‘Levels’ sold for a record-breaking amount on Discogs. Revealed as part of a Discogs feature looking at the 30 most expensive items sold via the online vinyl marketplace in September, a 12″ version of the late EDM legend’s breakthrough track sold for $1,764.00.
An official Avicii biography was also released last year, offering “an honest picture of Tim and his search in life, not shying from the difficulties that he struggled with.” The DJ and producer, real name Tim Bergling, died by suicide in 2018 aged 28-years-old.
