The Daisychain podcast has come to an end after 7 years

Renowned women and non-binary-focused mix series the Daisychain podcast has come to an end after seven years.

In a letter entitled “An End, A New Beginning” posted on the Daisychain website, founder Alicia Greco confirmed the mix series had reached its conclusion, writing” “Daisychain in its current form ends, in the hope to make space for a new beginning.”

“There are new seeds ready to be planted when the time is right,” they add. “The message and the community remains the same, with a whole new intention.”

The letter accompanied the final mix of the series; the 360th instalment recorded by Greco under their moniker Leesh, writing: “In all of these years, I myself have never made a Daisychain mix. Now, here it is. Talk about daunting pressure!”

The Daisychain podcast was created by the Chicago-based Greco in 2017, and quickly earned adoration from electronic fans due to the eclectic offering of established and up-and-coming DJs.

The podcast has seen mixes from the likes of Moxie, Sally C, ISAbella, Paurro, Jubilee, D. Tiffany, Ariel Zetina and many more — becoming known for its detailed Soundcloud bios that would have each artist pick out a favourite quote, offer advice to budding DJs and list their influences.

This was often accompanied by a tongue-in-cheek genre hashtag, such as “bass4babes”, “Mermaid Techno”, “Lesbian house” and “pilates princess”.
