Traktor MX2 Controller Brings Instant Stems Remixing and Club-Ready Audio to Every DJ Setup

Native Instruments has officially unveiled the Traktor MX2, a streamlined 2-channel DJ controller poised to redefine creative performance for both aspiring and experienced DJs. Combining a highly portable format with professional-grade features, the MX2 delivers a powerful mixing experience right out of the box, integrating seamlessly with the newly updated Traktor Pro 4 software.

This next-generation controller is designed for DJs who want a compact yet club-ready setup, packing all the necessary tools—including a high-quality built-in audio interface—into an intuitive layout. To help users start immediately, the hardware comes bundled with the full version of Traktor Pro 4 and a two-month trial for Beatport Streaming for new customers

Unlocking Instant Creativity with New Performance Features

The Traktor MX2 stands out by offering a rich set of creative tools that make complex maneuvers simple:

  • 16 RGB Performance Pads: These pads unlock four versatile modes for manipulating music on the fly. Most notably, the dedicated Stems mode allows for unparalleled live remixing, instantly isolating and controlling a track’s core elements: vocals, drums, bass, and remaining instrumentation. Additionally, users can trigger Hotcues to jump to key moments, use Flux Loops for beat-synced loop manipulation, and employ the Pattern Player to sequence and layer percussive elements like hi-hats and snares in real-time.
  • Dynamic Effects Layering: The controller makes quick work of transitions and builds through its dual effects architecture. The Mixer FX feature provides nine one-knob effects, from classic filters to dramatic delays and reverbs, for quick tension-building. For deeper sound design, two assignable Deck FX units give users access to over 40 studio-grade effects for precise, real-time audio transformation.

Club-Ready Design and Sound Quality

Built to handle professional environments, the Traktor MX2 prioritizes audio fidelity and an intuitive workflow.

The controller houses a high-quality 24-bit/96kHz audio interface, ensuring a clean, punchy sound whether plugged into a house party system or a full club rig. This sound quality is optimized within Traktor Pro 4 using iZotope’s Ozone Maximizer, which preserves volume and clarity while preventing digital distortion.

Even in low-light booths, the MX2 keeps the DJ fully oriented. Its illuminated bottom shell provides important visual cues, warning the DJ when a track is running low or a loop is active. Two touch-sensitive jog wheels offer the precision required for fine-tuning nudges, scratching, and scrolling, supporting both Turntable and Jog modes for different mixing styles.

The Traktor MX2 is positioned as a complete DJ solution, giving artists the expressive power of a large setup in a portable, next-generation package.
