W&W share edit of viral cat with ‘Oiia Oiia’: Listen

W&W have gained renown for their club-shaking anthems throughout their incredible career. Now, the duo is inspired by a viral cat for their latest production.

As social media continues to impact and help producers find new areas of inspiration, W&W has utilized the story of Ethel, the spinning cat whose viral videos have garnered millions of views online. Infusing their ability to deliver mainstage-ready productions, the duo has expanded upon the viral sensation and built out a full-blown track for fans to digest. The track debuted at the duo’s New Year’s Eve performance and quickly garnered millions of views online making the release inevitable. Recognizing the importance of giving back to animals and Ethel, the inspiration for the single, all proceeds will be donated to the Cat Welfare Association.

The track itself features plenty of Ethel and her unique sounds, but it is also well paired with W&W’s high-energy production. Opening with the cat’s noises and a driving ramp-up of percussion, FX, and leads, the track quickly hits full throttle led by a pulsing baseline and atmospheric vocal samples. A cat may seem like an odd inspiration for a dance single, but W&W are professionals and they turn this viral sensation into a must-listen jam. Check out the latest from W&W below.
