Young Urban Arts Foundation launches free studio opportunity programme for aspiring music producers

UK charity Young Urban Arts foundation (YUAF) has launched a free studio opportunity programme for aspiring young music producers.

Open to London-based music creatives aged between 16 and 19, YUAF are looking for 10 individuals to come into the Foundation’s studios and take part in the programme, ultimately producing a track to feature on the YUAF’s first EP, ‘Fresh From London’.

Launched in partnership with Undeniable Studios and Universal Production Music, the programme will also focus on Sync Music and how it can become an income, with the 10 selected tracks on the EP set to be considered for use in video games, adverts, film and TV & more.

You can find out more about the programme and apply for the YUAF Presents Fresh from London programme via eventbrite here. Deadline for applications is the 3rd September, with the course set to begin on the 13th September.

Since 2009, the Young Urban Arts Foundation has hosted creative arts workshops for young people from deprived areas, and provided support for those affected by all the extra challenges and stresses brought about by poverty — increased struggles with mental health, exposure to violent crime or abuse, and difficulty finding jobs. Last year, DJ Mag’s Ben Hindle spoke to the Young Urban Arts Foundation about their vital work using music and the arts to help young people from hard-to-reach areas. You can read the feature here.
