Numbers and Youth Music launch work experience programme for 18-25 year olds
Glasgow-based label and collective Numbers have teamed up with national charity Youth Music to launch a work experinence programme for 18-25-year-olds.
The six-month work-study programme is aimed at young people interested in entering the music industries. Running from January-June 2022, it is open to a total of four participants, who will have the chance to develop career skills via paid work experience on various Numbers activities alongside a series of practical and educational workshops.
The position is grant-funded, in line with the Real Living Wage. Successful applicants will receive £3,000 over the six-month duration, as well as a minimum budget of £2,000 for a collaborative project.
As well as having “a passion for electronic music and a desire to gain experience in the music industries,” applicants should be aged between 18-25, based in Glasgow or able to commute pending COVID-19 restrictions, able to commit to a minimum of four hours per week for the six-month duration, and be “organised and willing to learn from and collaborate with others”.
Among the key components of the programme – which is split into two phases – include opportunities to learn directly from artists and music professionals with a range of experiences on topics and themes that align with Numbers projects. Participants will also have the chance to contribute to projects such as upcoming releases, programming for festivals and events in 2022, archival organisation and editorial research and delivery.
