Paul van Dyk delivers new album ‘This World Is Ours’: Listen
Already an icon and longstanding tastemaker in the electronic music landscape, Paul van Dyk has now delivered his first album in 5 years. The 30-track collection comes ahead of a massive collection of live shows and represents his insight into the rise of AI technology.
It has been 5 years since Paul van Dyk unleashed his 2020 album, Guiding Light, a COVID-era release that seems to have existed in an entirely different timeline. Continuing to push forward, the trance icon is focusing on one of today’s most pressing news items, the rise of artificial technology and explores these themes on his new album, This World Is Ours. Across 30 tracks, van Dyk shows off his incredible talents in the studio, navigating genres and styles, while staying close to his message that, “AI isn’t just a tool; it’s a new definition of technology.”
Having built up anticipation for the release in recent months as he’s played tracks in his live sets, this collection is led by the track Beautiful with help from Julia Westlin. The beautiful vocals and lush atmosphere of the track truly welcome listeners into van Dyk’s world and serve as a crux between the beauty of natural talent and artificial outputs. The rest of the album ebbs and flows as Paul van Dyk delivers an album well worth the five year wait since his last full-length. van Dyk will be spending the rest of the year on the road, continuing to support This World Is Ours.
