New 210-capacity nightclub to open in New York, Signal

A brand new 210-capacity nightclub is set to open in East Williamsburg, New York, this weekend.

Named Signal, the new venue will open its doors tomorrow, May 10, for the first time officially, months after it was first teased online.

In January, photos of the venue were shared on Instagram, showing the club under construction. The warehouse space sits on Morgan Ave in Brooklyn, close to other famed New York nightclubs like Elsewhere and Brooklyn Mirage.

Signal hosted a “pre-launch soft opening” programme through late February, March, and April ahead of its official opening this weekend.

The venue, founded by Joshua Buhler, Leonard Fink and club promoter Nicholas Spector, has a no phone policy on its dancefloor, following in the footsteps of NYC clubs that employ the same policy such as Nowadays and Basement.

“The dancefloor remains one of the rare spaces where genuine connection still thrives, unfiltered,” the venue explained on Instagram in February.

“It’s a place where time is meant to be experienced, not captured, and where music is meant to be felt, not recorded. Step in, let go, and keep it good for everyone.”

The club also flaunts a d&b Audiotechnik soundsystem and acoustically-treated interior design, promising a convergence of “industry, noise, and movement”.

“Built with unwavering steel, the walls are meant to create an intentional break from the bustling environment while holding the sound within. Not made to blend in or stand out, they were designed to simply reflect the city that surrounds it — raw and vibrant,” they explain.

So far, the venue has welcomed the likes of DJ Bone, Anna Wall, Evan Baggs, Ash Lauryn, Kyle Hall, Satoshi Tomiie, Eli Escobar, and more, in the lead-up to its opening.
