Manchester’s Green Island annonces full line-up for 2025
Manchester grassroots festival Green Island is back at Hulme Community Garden Centre for its fifth edition, with events on June 7, August 2 and September 6.
The 1,500-capacity event is spread across five stages, and features highlights such as local d’n’b don DRS performing with an 11-piece band, South Asian collective Daytimers hosting a two-hour takeover, nine-piece Afro-Jazz group Nubiyan Twist, Tina Edwards, Aletha, Sofie K b2b Macca, and more.

Reggae Land confirms Mavado and Dexta Daps as final 2025 headliners
Reggae Land, taking place at the Milton Keynes National Bowl across August 2 to 3, has confirmed its final headliners.
Mavado and Dexta Daps complete the top of the bill, which also includes the likes of Chronixx, Capleton, Steel Pulse, Gyptian, Alpha Blondy, Kabaka Pyramid, Protoje, Tanya Stephens, Spragga Benz, Morgan Heritage, Iration Steppas, Mungo’s Hi Fi, Mad Professor, and Aba Shanti I.
The festival features five stages and is expected to welcome more than 10,000 people.

Strichka Festival confirms 2025 line-up
Kyiv’s long-running Strichka Festival is taking place at Closer this weekend, across May 17 to 18.
Seven unique dancefloors are made indoors and outdoors at the sprawling club.
A press release notes: “Strichka continues to take place in wartime Kyiv despite martial law, air raid alerts, and a nationwide curfew. For the fourth year in a row under full-scale invasion, the festival stands as a powerful act of cultural resilience, bringing people together through music, movement, and shared defiance.”
50 artists are set to play, including nine international acts, including DJ Plead, Shackleton and Mari.te.
“I didn’t hesitate. This is just a small gesture on my part, while people in
Ukraine have been living in this reality for years,” says Shackleton.

Laboratorium Spring returns to Kyiv this month
Laboratorium Spring is set to return to Kyiv from May 24 – 25, promising a fusion of “contemporary culture and cutting-edge art”, featuring 26 musicians over two days.
This year’s edition will see a headline set from Paris’ Schlømo. “Our goal is to create an event that gives people hope, strength, and a sense of community,” the festival explained.

Recessland to host 2-day festival at Dreamland Margate
Recessland is heading back to Dreamland Margate this month with a two-day festival hosting the likes of BAMBII, Chy Cartier, Felo Le Tee, Juls, Brighter Days, Keyrah, and more.
The festival takes place this year from May 24 – 25, welcoming more than 12,000 people across the weekend.

Philadelphia’s Making Time ∞ unveils over 120 acts set to perform at 2025 festival
Philadelphia festival Making Time ∞ is returning for its fifth time this year to Fort Mifflin, with a three-day event set to go ahead from September 19 – 21.
Over 120 acts have been revealed for this year’s edition, including Four Tet, Aya, Panda Bear, Ben UFO, Moodyman, Avalon Amerson, Nick León, DJ Python, and more.

San Francisco’s Portola Music Festival has unveiled each of this year’s headline acts, including LCD Soundsystem, The Chemical Brothers, Peggy Gou, Underworld, and more.
