Yonny Drops Everywhere But Always (Deluxe) With New Tracks Featuring Sango and Ambré

Seattle-born rapper and songwriter Yonny is back this Friday with Everywhere But Always (Deluxe), the expanded version of his sophomore project that helped solidify his place as one of the most important new voices in Seattle rap. Originally released in 2024 and already boasting more than 3 million streams, the project now grows with three new tracks, including collaborations with Grammy-nominated singer-songwriter Ambré and acclaimed producer Sango.

The additions highlight what has defined Yonny’s rise so far — raw storytelling, emotional honesty, and a deep connection to his hometown. On “I Am,” he strips it back to acoustic strums and a lyrical message of self-acceptance and resilience. Ambré joins him on a reimagined version of fan favorite “Blue Door,” where her smooth vocals wrap around Yonny’s cadence. “Jumbo Jet,” produced by Sango, is a Seattle-to-Seattle collaboration that has been years in the making and is already seeing playlist support from DSPs, including the cover spot on Amazon’s Break Through Hip-Hop playlist.

Seattle Roots and a Breakout Year

The release caps what has been a breakthrough stretch for Yonny. With Everywhere But Always, he gave Seattle one of its most recognizable rap anthems in “City In Motion,” while press acclaim from The Seattle Times, Seattle Met, and spots on Ebro Darden’s show and On The Radar Radio pushed his profile beyond the Pacific Northwest. His campaign with Sounders FC tied his music to his hometown culture in a way that felt natural and long overdue.

Earlier this month, Yonny marked the one-year anniversary of the original release with a special live jazz performance in Seattle, backed by a full band. It was a moment that highlighted his ability to stretch as an artist while staying rooted in the city that raised him.

From Early Projects to the Deluxe Edition

Yonny’s first projects, Ghetto Sunset and SK[I]NCARE with Oble Reed, introduced him as a storyteller unafraid to mix vulnerability with sharp wordplay. With Everywhere But Always (Deluxe), he builds on that foundation with songs that reflect resilience, independence, and community. At only 24, he is carving a lane that brings his Ethiopian heritage, his Seattle upbringing, and influences that stretch from Nirvana to Dr. Dre into a sound that feels distinct and current.

For Yonny, Everywhere But Always (Deluxe) is not just an expanded version of a successful project — it is a statement of growth and a clear sign that his voice will continue to reach far beyond Seattle.
