Watch: Tiësto delivers stunning intro to Dreamstate trance set

Hot on the heels of a new single and album announcement, Tiësto further cemented his return to trance during his weekend stop at Dreamstate in Long Beach, CA. The dance music icon has the entire industry enthralled as he returns to the sound and style that helped propel him to stardom.

Long before Tiësto took the stage next to the Queen Mary over the weekend, fans worldwide were in high anticipation thanks to the release of his latest single, Bring Me To Life and announcement of a new album on the way. After shying away from his trance roots for years, he is going all in this year, delivering A Search for Sunrise sets and more exclusive focus on the genre throughout 2025. Beneath the southern California skies, he truly recognized the massiveness of the moment, coming full circle and delivering a massive set for the Dreamstate crowd.

With a powerful spoken work statement, Tiësto set the stage as the speakers blared with “And you know everybody’s talking about the good old days right…come to think of it, as bad as we think they are these will become the good old days for our children.” Set against incredible stage design and visual functions, as well as the haunting display of the Queen Mary, the Dutch DJ prepared the audience for what was to come. “But why don’t we try to remember that kind of September when life was slow…Or what does it seem that the past was always good. The grass was greener, the skies were bluer, the smiles were bright, bright, bright.” A powerful start, a powerful statement, and a powerful set from the one and only Tiësto.
