Darude Unveils ‘Feel The Beat’ Remix Package After 20 Years

Two decades on from the original, one of Finnish trance’s most cherished records is getting its official contemporary treatment. Darude has unveiled the ‘Feel The Beat’ remix package, the first official remixes of the record in over 20 years, released via his Vibing Out imprint. The project brings together artists who have long championed the record alongside a new generation of producers, reimagining the track for today’s club landscape while staying true to the identity that first landed in 2000.

The lineup is genuinely stacked. Contributions come from Ilan Bluestone, Giuseppe Ottaviani, Emily Nash, Nilsix (Ørjan Nilsen & Mark Sixma), EM11 (HE.SHE.THEY) and Junkkataxi, each offering a distinct interpretation while retaining the recognisable drive of ‘Feel The Beat’. Ilan Bluestone reflected: “Feel The Beat was one of the records that inspired me to start producing trance music. Because the original means so much to me, I wanted to keep its DNA intact, focusing on enhancing the groove and adding a little more drive underneath.” Giuseppe Ottaviani added: “It’s a real honour to get the opportunity to remix it. I used to play it on vinyl until my turntable broke.” Alongside the remixes, the release features newly recorded vocals from Austrian singer, songwriter and producer PAENDA, faithfully recreating the original while giving the new versions a contemporary edge.

The project developed organically, spurred on by fan and industry demand during Darude’s worldwide STORM 25 Anniversary Tour last year. “The reaction to Ilan Bluestone’s remix during my STORM 25 shows was a standout moment,” said Darude. The remix package continues the momentum behind Vibing Out, Darude’s independent label. Darude has already been road-testing the new remixes across his HYPE Tour DJ sets, from EDC Las Vegas to Steelyard London.
