Ferry Corsten Reimagines His Landmark Album with ‘Blueprint Reprinted’
Ferry Corsten has officially unveiled Blueprint Reprinted, a meticulously curated reimagining of his conceptually groundbreaking 2017 studio album, Blueprint. Rather than opting for a traditional remix package, Corsten invited a select group of forward-thinking artists to reinterpret the album’s core narrative, successfully preserving its original depth while reframing the sound for the modern dancefloor.
A Legacy of Storytelling in Electronic Music
When Blueprint was first released, it marked a pivotal shift in the electronic music landscape. Moving away from the industry-standard, singles-driven format, the project offered a cohesive, long-form listening experience rooted in seamless transitions, atmospheric world-building, and genuine storytelling. Nine years later, Blueprint Reprinted serves as a bridge between that visionary past and the current state of the genre, allowing six standout tracks to evolve through new creative lenses.
The EP opens with Ferry Corsten himself, who delivers a propulsive, peak-time rework of ‘Reanimate,’ elevated by refined synth arrangements and the cascading vocals of Clarity. The momentum continues as Giuseppe Ottaviani provides a high-impact reprint of ‘Drum Is The Weapon,’ stripping the track to its rhythmic core before reconstructing it with relentless, club-focused energy. Frankyeffe rounds out the heavier side of the project by transforming ‘Trust’ into a darker, late-night pressure cut, trading the original’s cinematic openness for a tightly wound, intense aesthetic.
Evolving the Soundscape
At the project’s midpoint, Hel:sløwed reshapes ‘Wherever You Are’—originally featuring HALIENE—into a deeper, progressive journey defined by filmic textures and restrained, tension-filled builds. Matt Fax takes on the album’s title track, stretching its familiar motifs across rolling grooves and immersive atmospheres. Finally, Genix closes the release with a hypnotic, house-leaning reprint of ‘Eternity,’ proving the versatility of the original compositions.
Available now across all major streaming platforms, Blueprint Reprinted also arrives as a limited 2×12” vinyl release, accompanied by an exclusive t-shirt via the Magik Muzik store. The project stands not only as a tribute to the legacy of a state of trance and the broader electronic scene but also as a testament to how enduring ideas continue to resonate within modern music production.
