The End Of A Chapter: Deep Dish Return To Global Underground For Third Brand Contribution, GU49: Dublin
The Dance world jumps for joy. Electronic music heavyweights Deep Dish, the duo comprised of Sharam and Dubfire, officially announce their monumental return to the Global Underground (GU) City Series. Titled GU49: Dublin, the forthcoming compilation marks the completion of a storied trilogy that began a quarter-century ago.
Scheduled for release in May 2026, the album serves as both a retrospective of the duo’s influence and a forward-looking example in the art of the compilation album.
Looking back, this mix signifies much more than a simple entry in the GU space: Deep Dish’s journey with the label began 25 entire years ago, with the iconic #GU21: Moscow (2001), and then followed by #GU25: Toronto two years later, a release that topped the Billboard Top Electronic Albums chart.
Global Underground was foundational for us, not just as a platform but as a legacy — a series shaped by decades of iconic artists who helped define the culture of DJing and club music. It was always about storytelling, and in many ways each compilation served as a musical time-capsule. We always tried to include the most timeless songs possible and coming back to the series now feels like closing a circle while opening a new chapter.

GU49: Dublin – The Collector’s Experience
In true Global Underground fashion, the upcoming compilation was designed as a high-value collectable for audiophiles. The release will be available across digital, CD, and vinyl formats, as expected, but the crown jewel is a Special Limited Edition Collector’s Box Set, the highest valued package for connoisseurs.
This edition includes a hardback “Dublin Travelogue” photo book featuring the work of Dean Belcher, square art prints, and a bespoke record shopping bag. Furthermore, the vinyl edition will feature exclusive marbled 12” discs, housing tracks that are unavailable in any other format.
One of the album’s most enticing points is an exclusive Deep Dish remix of Moderat’s ‘Eating Hooks‘. Originally released by the German supergroup in 2016, the track has been reimagined by Sharam and Dubfire specifically for this compilation. The remix is slated for a standalone single release on May 1, 2026, just ahead of the full album’s arrival.
