SUNGYOO Joins Spotify Fresh Finds Forward Class of 2026
Seoul-based producer and DJ SUNGYOO has been selected for Spotify’s Fresh Finds Forward Artist Class of 2026, adding another significant milestone to a year that has continued to elevate his profile across electronic music. This recognition as part of the Spotify Fresh Finds Forward initiative highlights his growing influence and potential within the global dance music scene.
Fresh Finds Forward is Spotify’s newly launched program designed to give emerging independent artists additional resources, community, and support beyond traditional playlist placement. The platform plans to bring approximately 10,000 artists into the initiative each year, with participating artists receiving access to its benefits for 12 months.
The program expands on Spotify’s long-running Fresh Finds ecosystem, which has helped introduce listeners to independent and early-career artists across genres and markets for more than a decade. Since 2024 alone, Spotify says Fresh Finds playlists have generated more than 128 million new artist discoveries, with nearly 70% of streams coming from listeners hearing an artist for the first time.
For SUNGYOO, the recognition arrives amid an especially active stretch. Earlier this year, he earned a “Best New Artist” nomination at the Electronic Dance Music Awards, while his 2026 live calendar is set to reach another high point with his mainstage debut at EDC Korea on October 3.
The South Korean artist has steadily built an international presence around a style that moves between bass house, tech house, future EDM, and K-pop influences. His high-energy performances have already taken him to major festivals and clubs including Ultra Korea, Ultra Bali, Ultra Japan, MU:IN Bangkok, S2O Korea, World DJ Festival Korea and Japan, PARA Macau, T2 Nagoya, FRAME Seoul, and SEL OCTAGON Tokyo.
Spotify’s Fresh Finds program has previously featured artists including Laufey, Clairo, Ethel Cain, Omar Apollo, and ROLE MODEL before their audiences expanded considerably.
For SUNGYOO, joining Fresh Finds Forward places additional infrastructure around momentum that is already building, connecting his growing international live presence with increased discovery and artist-development support through Spotify.
