ANNA releases new EP, ‘Journey To The Underworld’: Listen
ANNA has released a new EP, ‘Journey to the Underworld’ via Tale of Us’ Afterlife imprint.
A typically tough outing for the Brazilian techno producer and DJ, the opening title track marries solid drums with atmospheric harmonies, creating a deep but driving workout aimed squarely at the floor but packing plenty of detail. The releases also contains two other pieces, ‘Surrender’ and ‘Dissolution’.
“I created some ambient music and I also have been studying sound healing. This helped me to use frequencies more consciously and for specific purposes. I have learned how to combine frequencies, music and intention to induce states of expansion, love, joy, contemplation, and this gave a whole new purpose to my work. This whole process got me through these very difficult times,” ANNA said of the release.
“Since March 2020 I am making music without the pressure (that only I put on myself) of creating something that will have a strong reaction on the dancefloor and this made me relax and experiment with different sounds and styles. This process opened me up to parts of myself that I didn’t know I had,” she continued. “‘Journey To The Underworld’ is a mix of this new side that flourished in the last 2 years, of these new explorations, and my more club, energetic techno that you guys know very well already.”
ANNA recently shared techno and ambient remixes of Orbital’s classic, ‘Belfast’. In October she was confirmed among the names set to play Junction 2 festival in London when the event returns in 2022 — its first instalment since the pandemic began.
