Armin van Buuren & Craig David reimagine Anurag Saikia’s hit ‘Ishq Hai’ for Netflix India’s mismatched
Armin van Buuren and Craig David have joined forces with acclaimed Indian composer Anurag Saikia to deliver a stunning new version of “Ishq Hai (This Is Love)”. Originally composed for Netflix India’s hit series Mismatched Season 3, the track has now been reborn as a cross-cultural anthem. Released worldwide on August 29, 2025, the rework brings Indian soul into the global electronic spotlight.
Since its 2024 debut, “Ishq Hai” has amassed more than 300 million streams, including 175 million on Spotify India. Its heartfelt lyrics and soulful melodies resonated across weddings, playlists, and short-form video platforms, while spreading beyond India into markets like Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Nepal, and the Middle East. Consequently, the track became a modern classic across Asia.
Now, Armin injects his trademark trance energy, while Craig David adds an English verse that expands the song’s reach even further. “When I first heard Ishq Hai, its emotion and melody instantly stayed with me,” says Armin. “Working with Craig to reimagine it was special; we kept its soul but gave it the energy to connect with dance floors all over the world.” Craig David echoed that sentiment, calling the collaboration a highlight of his year.
With support from Believe and Armada Music, “Ishq Hai (This Is Love)” highlights how music transcends borders, blending Indian tenderness with international club euphoria. It stands as both a cultural bridge and a generational anthem for fans worldwide.
