Bassnectar Is Stepping Back From The Music Industry After Allegations of Sexual Misconduct

On July 3rd, Bassnectar announced that he is “stepping back” from his career. The DJ, Lorin Ashton, shared the news after allegations of sexual misconduct surfaced on an Instagram account called evidenceagainstbassnectar.

“I am stepping back from my career and I am stepping down from my position of power and privilege in this community because I want to take responsibility and accountability,” Ashton wrote in his statement. “I feel intense compassion for anyone I may have hurt. I truly hope you allow me a chance to work together toward hearing.”

While the artist says that the claims are rumors and are untrue, he states that he realized some of his past actions have caused pain.
