Berghain is reopening this weekend
The wait is finally over: Berghain is reopening this weekend.
The legendary Berlin club’s first club night since March 2020 takes place on Saturday 2nd October with b2bs from Ben Klock and Marcel Dettman, Tama Sumo and Lakuti, and Massimiliano Pagliara and nd_baumecker, as well as Cormac, rRoxymore, Steffi and more.
In an accompanying statement, the club said: “Music is often referred to as something universally human, a language that is understood all over the world. Which makes no evolutionary sense, but has known how to strengthen the sense of community since the beginning of human history.
“It is an echo of our humanity, which leads to similar structures and is recognized regardless of cultural background — be it a love song or a dance track. Music is the answer. With this in mind: Let the bass kick, see you on the dancefloor!”
Appearances by Avalon Emerson, LSDXOXO, Palms Trax, Honey Dijon and more are announced throughout the following month. Check out the full schedule here.
Although it’s been unable to host its Klubnacht, Berghain has remained active over the last few months. As well as recently hosting a three-day livestream with its in-house label Ostgut Ton, it recently re-opened its garden area, Klubgarten, with a series of outdoor parties.
Since winding down club nights as a result of the coronavirus pandemic and restrictions, it has also been used as a gallery space. Halle am Berghain hosted an art installation inspired by “Berlin’s origins as a swamp“, commissioned by Light Art Space and produced by Danish artist Jakob Kudsk Steensen.
