Berlin’s Watergate to return with new open-air event series
Iconic former Berlin nightclub Watergate is set to make a comeback this summer with a new series of open-air parties.
The Kreuzberg venue closed at the end of 2024 after 27 years, citing financial pressures such as “inflation, the energy crisis, rising costs in general, and, not least, the high rent” for the decision.
The team behind the venue will now host a four-part series of parties at Sage Beach Berlin, entitled Watergate Open Air (DON’T STOP THE DANCE).

The first party in the series, headlined by Anjunadeep affiliate Chris Luno, will kick off on May 24; further parties are scheduled for June 14, July 6, and August 16.
The line-ups for Watergate Open Air’s July and August parties have not been announced, however, it has been confirmed that Bedouin, Andhim and JAMIIE will play at its party in June.

In a post shared on Instagram yesterday (April 23), the Watergate team said: “After the last track faded and the lights went out, we didn’t know when or how we would come together again. Now we do.”
“This summer, Watergate steps back into the city, not in the club, but under the sky, with a limited series of Open Air events at SAGE BEACH,” they add. “We’ve brought the same team, the same energy and the same belief in moments that stay with you.”
