Cuervo Unveils Lineup For 2024 Akamba Music Festival In Tequila, Mexico
Cuervo, a name synonymous with tequila and many a late-night dance music adventure, has announced the return of its Akamba Music Festival—set to bring world-class DJs to the agave fields of Tequila, Mexico, for an early Cinco de Mayo celebration on May 4, 2024.
The hidden gem festival, which takes its name from the local Purépecha language translation for agave, has been marrying pulsating beats with authentic cultural immersion, sustainability and, of course, tequila since 2018.
This year, Cuervo has tapped brotherly house heroes Disclosure for a headline performance, alongside sets from fellow standouts Sofi Tukker, HVOB, Lewis OfMan, Kid Francescoli, Sofia Kourtesis, Sally C and more. Check out the complete lineup below.
Attendees can begin their journey to the Mexican heartland with a special festival version of the brand’s Cuervo Express. This 90-minute pregame train ride will transport festivalgoers from Guadalajara to the town of Tequila, complete with Cuervo cocktails, live onboard DJ performances and views of the vast surrounding agave landscape.
On-site in Tequila, a UNESCO World Heritage site, the festival will feature sculptures, landmarks, and murals inspired by the region’s “agave culture.” Akamba will also be serving up authentic Mexican cuisine, more Cuervo cocktails, and shots of tequila in the spirit’s famous birthplace to keep attendees moving and grooving all night long.
In addition to beats and bites, Akamba Music Festival has been hailed for its sustainability initiatives, including the elimination of single-use plastics, carbon footprint tracking and projects that help restore natural environments in the state of Jalisco, food bank donations and more.
All of Cuervo’s sustainable efforts with Akamba fall under the brand’s “Agave Project,” an initiative launched in 2019 dedicated to “reusing, recycling and repurposing 100 percent of the precious agave plant.”
