Dean Blunt drops new versions of A$AP Rocky collaboration, STOOZY
The pair’s most recent link-up surfaced online back in April.
Dean Blunt has dropped two new dub versions of his track STOOZY, which features New York rapper A$AP Rocky.
The former Crack Magazine cover star teased the new reworks – which come together as STOOZY (Kwake Dubs) – in his new video urban hymns. Blunt appears in the lo-fi visual, which also features a track from his recently-released LP Black Metal 2.
Given their titles, the new versions have presumably been crafted by south London musician Giles Kwakeulati King-Ashong – aka Kwake Bass – who co-produced and engineered Black Metal 2 alongside Blunt. Check out both new versions below.
STOOZY was first shared online earlier this year. It was the latest in a string of collaborations between Blunt and Rocky. In 2018, Blunt made an appearance on Rocky’s album Testing. He was tapped for production duties on the LP’s final track, Purity, which also includes guest appearances from Frank Ocean and Ms. Lauryn Hill. Blunt also provided additional vocals to the song Calldrop.
That same year, Rocky rapped over a track from Blunt’s Babyfather project on the song Money Bags Freestyle. The year prior, in 2017, Babyfather released the A$AP Rocky-featuring track Benzo Amore.
Blunt’s 2014 LP BLACK METAL topped our list of the best albums of the 2010s. He also fronted Crack Magazine’s Issue 71 cover with Gaika. Read the cover story here.
