DJ Tim Westwood leaves Capital Xtra show following allegations of sexual misconduct

TW: Sexual harassment, misconduct, abuse

According to the BBC, Tim Westwood is stepping down from his Capital Xtra show “until further notice”. Seven allegations of sexual misconduct emerged against the radio presenter this week in a joint investigation from the BBC and The Guardian.

The allegations came from seven women – all of whom are Black and have had their names changed in the report to protect their identities. Three accounts allege the radio presenter drove women to apartments, where he initiated unwanted sex. Four accounts claim the former BBC Radio 1 DJ sexually harassed women while they posed for photos with him.

The stories were also shared to the BBC Three documentary Tim Westwood: Abuse of Power, which aired yesterday (26 April).
