I remixed this track alongside Sam van Horne and MC Flipside, with Flipside bringing this incredible opportunity to us. From the moment we heard the vocals, there was an instant connection between all of us. CeCe’s timeless voice carries an energy that felt natural to build upon, and we knew we could create something special together.
2. How did you approach blending your signature style with CeCe’s timeless vocals?
The approach was about respect and reinvention. CeCe’s vocals are iconic, so our focus was to let them shine while creating a modern foundation that feels driving, emotive, and club-ready. Sam, Flipside, and I each brought our unique strengths to the table, and together we crafted a sound that complements her performance perfectly.
3. Were there any creative challenges you faced while working on this remix?
Working with such an iconic voice comes with a responsibility to honor the original while making it fresh. Finding that balance was the biggest challenge. We experimented with different grooves and synth textures until everything clicked into place.
