EXIT Festival Expands to Montenegro with Two Free Summer Events
EXIT is set to reshape the European festival landscape this summer with the introduction of two major, free-to-attend events on Montenegro’s Adriatic coast. These gatherings promise to bring together a stellar lineup of global electronic music icons, including Charlotte de Witte, Peggy Gou, Hugel, Jamie Jones, Argy, Stephan Bodzin, Monolink, Maceo Plex, Enrico Sangiuliano, John Newman, RPR Soundsystem, and Awen.
A Summer of Coastal Soundscapes
The festival series will unfold over two distinct weekends. The first event takes place from 3–6 July at Long Beach (Velika Plaža) in Ulcinj. Stretching over 13 kilometres, this iconic sandy destination is a premier spot for kitesurfing and offers a breathtaking backdrop for an organic, nature-focused festival experience. The programming here emphasizes a connection between music, extreme sports, and the pristine coastal environment.
The second installment moves to Bečići Beach in Budva, Montenegro’s tourism capital, running from 28–31 August. This edition will feature high-profile performances, including a debut live show from John Newman, with further artist announcements expected shortly.
Returning to the Roots of Club Culture
Organizers have emphasized a back-to-basics approach for these events, stating: “Under the tagline: ‘No LED, no SFX, no BS! Just pure music, sunsets, and sea,’ we’re returning to the roots of club culture at a time when production often overshadows the music.” By prioritizing the natural ecosystem and the raw energy of the dancefloor—drawing inspiration from the legendary EXIT Dance Arena—the events aim to provide a unique, immersive experience.
Warm-up events will precede each weekend, ensuring a continuous flow of music and momentum. Both festivals are free to attend, though prior registration is required. As part of the EXIT Festival World Tour 2026, this initiative is designed to bolster Montenegro’s tourism season. Prime Minister Milojko Spajić has highlighted the economic impact, noting that the project is expected to generate over 210,000 overnight stays and contribute more than €40 million to the local economy.
