Gabriel Drabkin Reconnects With His Inner Self & Releases “TILLIMFREE”

Versatile Hip Hop artist, Gabe Drabkin, delves into his thoughts and tries to get in touch with himself, re-establishing a connection with who he really is. The rapper shares a new single called “TILLIMFREE,” the follow-up to “Tried Calling” and “Bag.” The track acts as a gateway for the singer-songwriter to tune out the noise in his life and figure out what his heart and mind are telling him.

“TILLIMFREE” is accompanied by a surrealistic music video directed by Found Format’s Steven Cleavland and Kyle Kadow. Shot by Spencer Ortega, the visuals feature Drabkin losing a chess game to a talking tree as he sings: “I ain’t tryna play no more/ I just wanna hold you close/ In the midst of the fall I fall real slow/ For your love that holds/ Girl you taking me higher.”

Explaining the theme of the rap track he says: “It’s a look into my head, battling certain influences and people that hold me back from finding freedom. ‘TILLIMFREE’ has a message of finding the chains that tie you down in life and acknowledging them and freeing yourself from them.” Drabkin adds: “Life is crazy, I feel sometimes the small things are holding me back, but sometimes it’s hard to get over the bigger speed bumps in your life.”

Gabe admits to feeling lonely as he wanders among trees in search for a meaning, “In these lies I breathe free till the day dead/ I got a few I fall back on/ I’m about as good as they come/ The highest high playing them damn drums/ I see what I’ve loved and see what I make.” Reflecting his own experiences into the lyrics, Drabkin reveals “I think good lyrics are the pathway to really great tracks.”

Produced by Mitch Geist, “TILLIMFREE” joins the list of other great songs from Gabe Drabkin. The musician has released many impressive tracks, including, “Morning Sun,” ft. Rocklee, “uaintheard?” and “Forgiveness,” ft. YGTUT. He is at the moment excited for upcoming projects and plans to release five new EPs in 2023.
