Joy Orbison launches new London club night, Just For You

The free-to-attend party launches on 20 January.

Joy Orbison is throwing a new party in London entitled Just For You. The monthly party will take place at Below Stone Nest, a new bar situated in the basement of performance space Stone Nest on Shaftesbury Avenue. The building was once home to storied London nightclub Limelight.

The still slipping vol. 1 artist will launch his new event next Thursday (20 January). The party is free-to-attend and will run from 9pm to 1am. Line-ups won’t be announced ahead of time, with revellers set to discover the bill for each event upon entry to the venue.

I’ve wanted to have my own party in London for years now,” wrote Joy O in his announcement post. “When I was growing up, club life felt more supportive of new music and producers, so now seems like an important time for more spaces like that to exist.”

Continuing, he explained that the emphasis will be on “forward-thinking music with a mixture of new and established names.” [sic]

Back in 2013, Joy O – real name Peter O’Grady – curated a series of parties at London’s Oval Space also called Just For You. At the time, the artist shared a snippet of a track named in honour of the night, which was thrown in conjunction with the artist’s own Hinge Finger label. Listen to it here.
