Kendrick Lamar pays tribute to Virgil Abloh at Louis Vuitton’s Paris Fashion Week show
The rapper performed at the Louis Vuitton Men’s Spring/Summer 2023 showcase, which was live-streamed yesterday (23 June).
During the luxury fashion house’s Paris Fashion Week show Kendrick Lamar played tracks Savior, Rich Spirit, Count Me Out and N95 from his latest album Mr. Morale & the Big Steppers. Lamar delivered the tracks whilst remaining seated in the audience wearing a silver crown of thorns, similar to the one he wears on the Mr. Morale album cover, and a Louis Vuitton suit.
When performing N95 Lamar paid tribute to Virgil Abloh, Vuitton’s former creative director who passed away last November. After playing Count Me Out the Compton rapper began chanting “long live Virgil” over the beat of N95. Watch a clip of the moment from Lamar’s performance below.
