Kyiv’s 20ft Radio launches Ukraine charity project Grains of Peace
The Kyiv-based independent online station will host a week-long special broadcast in aid of Ukraine.
The project is called Grains of Peace. From 28 March to 3 April, 20ft Radio will host a series of peaceful and calm mixes from local Ukrainian artists alongside international artists. Elena Colombi, Legowelt, Aleksi Perala, Yu Su and Biosphere are amongst the DJs contributing mixes. Ukrainian selectors involved include Muscut artist Nikolaienko, Anthony Junkoid, Mlin Patz, DJ Snork and Vvanya Samokrutkin who is on Odessa-based label СИСТЕМА.
Listeners will be able to donate via the Grains of Peace page. All money raised will be shared between the National Bank of Ukraine, Destroyed Property and Infrastructure Restoration Fund and friends of the station who are volunteering in Kyiv and other Ukrainian areas.
In a statement, 20ft Radio said, “We believe that music is an instrument of peace, a medicine, which power can be felt by everyone and can help to find faith, hope and peace in this world again. We invite artists and music lovers from all over the world to sow Grains of Peace to support the spirit of our country, fill souls with light and fill the future with meaning.”[sic] Artists who want to get involved can email 20ft Radio.
