Little Simz, Dave and Wolf Alice among 2022 BRIT Award winners
The annual ceremony took place last night (9 February) at the O2 Arena.
Little Simz, Dave, Wolf Alice and more were among the winner’s at last night’s BRIT Awards. The event saw former Crack Magazine cover stars Dave and Little Simz take home awards for Best Hip-Hop/Grime/Rap Act and Best New Artist respectively. Dave is the first recipient of the Best Hip-Hop/Grime/Rap Act award, which is among a number of new genre categories added for 2022. Wolf Alice won Group of the Year.
Elsewhere, Adele, Dua Lipa, Billie Eilish, Holly Humberstone and Olivia Rodrigo also won awards at last night’s ceremony. London-based producer Inflo, who produced on Adele’s award-winning album 30 as well as Simz’s Sometimes I Might Be Introvert, won Producer of the Year.
Little Simz treated fans to a performance of Sometimes I Might Be Introvert tracks Introvert and Woman during the ceremony. She was joined by The Crown’s Emma Corrin alongside a crew of dancers.
Dave closed the show with a, well, show-stopping rendition of In The Fire, lifted from his latest album We’re All Alone in This Together. The Streatham rapper was joined by Ghetts, Giggs, Fredo and Meekz, plus a gospel choir. The fiery performance saw Dave rapping, playing the piano and ripping a solo on a guitar while flames soared into the sky.
