Midori Hirano and James Heather announced for Q3Ambientfest 2022
The German festival returns this spring.
Q3Ambientfest (Q3A) has announced the line-up and dates for its forthcoming edition, set to take place in Potsdam, Germany, on 8-10 April. Curated by Berlin-born composer duo Brueder Selke – aka Sebastian and Daniel Selke, who also release music as CEEYS – the annual festival will present three days of programming spanning electronic music, pop, classical and experimental sound design.
For 2022, the festival has enlisted Midori Hirano, James Heather, Ale Hop, Liam Bryne and more for performances. Laura Cannell, Perila, Robert Ames and Ben Corrigan, among others, have also been confirmed for shows. Ólafur Arnald’s “living musical film project” Island Songs will be screened during the event.
Elsewhere, Brussels-based string quartet Echo Collective will head to Potsdam on the Saturday night (9 April) to perform excerpts of their work with the late Icelandic composer Jóhann Jóhannsson, with whom they frequently collaborated with prior to his death in 2018. Festival curators Brueder Selke will also perform live on the Saturday night.
