MOGA Festival reveals MOGA OFF programme
The Moroccan festival expands to a five-day event for the first time this year.
MOGA OFF is a new programme that will happen on the 28 and 29 September ahead of the electronic music festival at Sofitel Essaouira Mogador Golf & Spa. Taking place across different cultural institutes within Essaouira, the OFF initiative will offer an opportunity for festival attendees to explore the city’s Medina – aka the Old Town – as well as its Atlantic beach.
As part of this there will be an opening concert at the Sqala Medina in Essaouira where Game of Thrones was filmed, activities including surfing and kite-boarding, a photography exhibition in the Medina and traditional Moroccan cooking classes. The MOGA OFF events will also be free entry for residents.
Speaking on the new MOGA OFF programme, festival co-founder Matthieu Corosine said, “We are very proud of this brand new OFF programme which highlights the different aspects of the city. It was important for us that this festival be inclusive by introducing Essaouira to the world, but also by offering residents free events so that they can share the MOGA experience. Sharing and exchange are the keywords of this edition.”
The festival comes to Essaouira from 28 September to 3 October. This year’s line-up features the likes of DJ Python, John Talabot, Habibi Funk, Soichi Terada, Acid Arab and Polo & Pan. Head to the MOGA Festival website for tickets and more information.
