A forthcoming documentary will explore the connection between video games and the ‘90s club scene.
From Bedrooms to Billions: The PlayStation Revolution is the latest project from Rebellion, an independent media studio founded by Jason Kingsley OBE and Chris Kingsley OBE, and produced critically acclaimed filmmakers Anthony and Nicola Caulfield.
Incoming on September 7th 2020, the documentary will chart the seemingly overnight success of the PlayStation console, which introduced games such as Metal Gear Solid, Crash Bandicoot, Tomb Raider, Gran Turismo, Resident Evil, God of War and Shadow of the Colossus.
The short film will also feature interviews with creators of some of the aforementioned games, as well as exploring the connection between video games and the early ’90s club and rave scene in the UK, with a special focus on the famous PlayStation room at London club, Ministry of Sound.
The full documentary will be available on Apple, Amazon, Sky Box Office and Vimeo, as well as DVD and Blu-ray, on the 7th September. You can check out the trailer below.
