SOPHIE’s ‘Nothing More To Say’ to get vinyl repress in early 2022
SOPHIE’s ‘Nothing More to Say’ is set for a vinyl repress in early 2022.
The artist’s debut EP dropped on the revered Scottish label Huntleys + Palmers back in 2013. An early sign of the innovation, musicality, and creative vision that would come to define SOPHIE’s work, prices for the release skyrocketed on secondary marketplaces like Discogs after the artist died in January this year, aged just 34.
As a result of this inflation, imprint boss Andrew Thomson decided it was important to make more affordable copies available. Once on sale, the new pressings will help bring in much-needed funds for the Scottish Trans Alliance. The equality network works to improve gender identity and reassignment rights and inclusion.
SOPHIE’s death sparked an outpouring of emotion from across the UK electronic music, pop, queer, and club communities. Liverpool venue 24 Kitchen Street unveiled a mural dedicated to the icon and a petition to name newly discovered planet TOI 1338 b after the artist was also launched.
