Authorities apprehended Gardiakos in March 2024 upon his arrival at Chicago O’Hare International Airport following a flight from London. According to investigators, he was found in possession of approximately six kilograms—nearly 14 pounds—of ketamine concealed within his luggage. Court records indicate that Gardiakos admitted to purchasing the illicit substance in London and receiving instructions from the seller on how to bypass customs security.

A History of Legal Trouble

This conviction represents the second time Gardiakos has pleaded guilty to major narcotics charges since 2022. At the time of his most recent arrest, he was already serving a term of probation stemming from a 2021 investigation. That earlier case originated from a raid on his West Town residence, where law enforcement discovered a cache of controlled substances, including ketamine, cannabis, THC concentrate, and psilocybin mushrooms, alongside evidence of drug distribution.

While he initially received probation for the 2021 charges, that sentence has now been terminated in light of his latest conviction. Gardiakos will serve his six-year prison term immediately.
