2022 BAFTAs: Keyboard Fantasies and Summer of Soul nominated
The 2022 BAFTA nominees have been announced.
Keyboard Fantasies, directed by Posy Dixon and starring former Crack Magazine cover star Beverly Glenn-Copeland, has been nominated for Outstanding Debut by a British Writer, Director or Producer. The documentary was screened as part of Crack Magazine’s Supporters Week programme – a week of films and talks which took place in March 2021. Head to the Supporters page for more information on upcoming screenings.
Dune has been given nine nods altogether and has been nominated for Original Score. The film’s soundtrack was featured in Crack Magazine’s list of the Best Film Scores of 2021. Dune competes with Being the Ricardos, Don’t Look Up, The French Dispatch and The Power of the Dog for the award.
House of Gucci appears in three different categories, one of which is a nomination for Lady Gaga as Leading Actress. Belfast, Don’t Look Up, Dune, Licorice Pizza and The Power of the Dog are the contenders for the Best Film award.
Summer of Soul (Or, When the Revolution Could Not Be Televised), a documentary about the 1969 Harlem Cultural Festival, has earned two nods for Best Documentary and Best Editing.
Rebel Wilson is set to host this year’s awards ceremony, taking place at Royal Albert Hall in London on 13 March. Check out the list of nominees below, and listen back to a Paul Thomas Anderson specialist mix.
