Arca has remixed Laurie Anderson’s 1982 track Big Science

Laurie Anderson’s 1982 track Big Science has been remixed by Arca.

The new 10-minute reimagining was produced by the former Crack Magazine cover star in her home studio in Barcelona last summer. It was released today (19 January) via Nonesuch Records.

The original version formed the title track to Anderson’s 1982 debut album. Last year, the landmark record was reissued on vinyl for the first time in thirty years.

Arca’s Big Science rework marks her first release of the year. In December, the Venezuelan artist completed her KICK album series with four new albums: KICK ii, KicK iii, kick iiii and kiCK iiiii.

In our review, we said: “To call the sonic tapestry Alejandra Ghersi, a.k.a. Arca, has created in her latest anthology sprawling would be a gross understatement. The five-part follow-up to last year’s KiCK i is an origin story for a brave new world.”
