Bézier has announced details of an EP set for release via Dark Entries.

The Honey Soundsystem co-founder – real name Robert Yang – will release ‘Valencia’ via the San Francisco imprint on February 18th. Spanning disco, techno and heavy synths, the EP is described by Dark Entries as a “six-track rumination on memory, geography, and transmutation.”

The follow-up to multi-instrumentalist Yang’s 2018 album ‘Parler Musique’ – which was also released on Dark Entries – ‘Valencia’ explores themes such as submission and catharsis with nods to San Francisco’s gay leather bars of the 1970s and 1980s. Yang also delves into twinned places (San Franciso’s Valencia Street is channeled, as is Valencia in Spain.)

Speaking about the release, Yang said, “What started as a project to investigate the love of the sound and scenery while living in San Francisco quickly developed into a passionate search for interlocking melodies and driving rhythms.”

Cover art for the release was designed by Gwenael Rattke, whose sleeve features an 80’s punk zine-esque geometric grid pattern mirroring San Francisco street maps.
