Ilario Alicante Pushes Kadoc Classic Into 2025 with Stripped-Back Remix
Ilario Alicante returns with a focused, floor-ready remix of David Penn & Crusy’s ‘The Night Train’ ft. Kadoc, out now via Altra Moda. It’s his first new release since 2023, and it lands exactly where it needs to—cutting through nostalgia and rebuilding one of dance music’s most familiar hooks into a sharper, modern frame.
Alicante keeps the vocal intact but strips everything else down to its essentials: tightly-sequenced drums, rolling low-end, and a no-fluff arrangement that hits right in the middle of a set.
Instead of chasing big melodic moments or retro sentimentality, Alicante leans into rhythm and restraint. The original update by Penn & Crusy climbed high on the Beatport charts earlier this year, but Alicante’s version digs deeper—trading polish for pressure and maximizing space in the mix. The result is a hypnotic and efficient tool, designed less for streaming playlists and more for dark rooms at 3am.
A Sharp Return With More on the Horizon
This remix also tees up a busy stretch for Alicante. His new event series, L/NK, launched in Milan at Ex Macello and heads to Space Riccione on July 12, pushing a curated, high-intensity club experience that matches his current output. On the label side, his Sound D’Elite imprint continues to grow as a hub for lean, functional club tracks that align with his no-frills approach to DJing and production.
With Ibiza dates locked in for ANTS, Music On, Resistance, Elrow, Carl Cox Invites, and Nowhere, along with festival appearances at Loveland, Brunch Festival, and Zamna Cannes, Alicante is in full form for summer 2025. The remix adds another sharp-edged tool to his current arsenal—a reminder that sometimes the best update is the one that gets straight to the point.
