Loraine James has released a new single and accompanying video, ‘Running Like That’.

The track, which features vocals from Canada-born, London-based singer Eden Samara, is lifted from James’ new album, ‘Reflection’, which is out on Hyperdub on Friday, June 4th.

Samara says the song’s lyrics are about being chased by the voices in your head. “I was imagining a car chase between someone and their shadow self,” she says.

The video, meanwhile, is by animator Rob Heppell and is said to take inspiration from the photographer Richard Misrach and the painter Andrew Wyeth, who are both American landscape artists that focus on the relationship between humans and the landscape. James herself features in the video, which you can watch below.

James first announced the release of ‘Reflection’ in March with lead track ‘Simple Stuff’, which was followed last month by ‘Let’s Go’.

Last month, DJ Mag premiered a remix by James for Poisonous Birds’ ‘We Can Never Not Be All Of Us’.
