Sabo selects 10 transcendent tunes ahead of Envision Festival
Teeming with ancient moods and spiritual notions, Sabo‘s refined style of dance music has been transporting revelers to the most ethereal recesses of the dancefloor for over a decade. Starting his Sol Selectas Records imprint in 2006 while living in New York City, the label has grown into an internationally recognized music collective that promotes diversity and boundless creativity. An originator of the electronic music genre moombahton – which took the US by storm back in 2010 – Sabo’s sound has consistently evolved with a sexy and tribal rhythmic cadence that has made him a consistent stand out at festivals like Burning Man, Coachella, Lightning in a Bottle, Shambhala, Fusion and Symbiosis.
Creating soundtracks that aim to transport listeners to mystical places such as the Amazon rainforest, a moonlit tropical beach, or a desert plane for a Saharan sunrise, it only makes sense that Sabo be tapped for the ninth-edition of Envision Festival in Costa Rica.
Taking place in the lush jungle of Uvita on the Pacific Coast between February 28 and March 3, Envision Festival is a holistic and perennial permaculture event that is dedicated to exploring environmental conservation, self-enlightenment and world-class house, techno and bass performance. This year’s edition has enlisted headliners Griz, Tycho, Too Many Zooz, CloZee, Nicola Cruz, Random Rab, Lee Burridge, Trevor Hall, Bedouin and more.
Ahead of his performance at the festival, Sabo has picked out 10 tracks that will capture your imagination and carry you to the pristine beaches of Costa Rica. Check out his choices below.

Nicola Cruz ‘Siete’
“The lead single from Nicola’s new album ‘Siku’. This track perfectly blends South American grooves with eastern instrumentation. Check out the whole album, it’s really diverse and inspiring.”
Kermesse ‘Sunday Glide’
“A feel good downbeat track with an irresistible groove, and soothing lyrics. Really feeling this one and the whole album it came out on.”
PAAX Tulum ‘Djorolean’ (Oumou Sangare Re-Version)
“Chill out music at its finest right here. if you’re feeling stressed or even a little bit down, light a joint, sit back, and let Oumou Sangare’s angelic voice bring you back into the positive vibrations.”
Toto Chiavetta ‘Dzukulu’ feat. Idd Aziz
“Toto is on fire lately, and I literally cannot stop playing this one. It has all the elements I love, heavy tribal percussion, a thumping tech groove, psychedelic synths, and African vocals. This will surely be played again at Envision for my set.”
Hird ‘Keep You Kimi’ feat Yukimim Nagano
“I had to include one classic and this is one of my all-time favorite after-hours tunes. This track by Hird features Yukimi before she joined Little Dragon. She has this jazzy simplicity to her vocals, which reminds me of early Sade.”
Be Svendsen – Andromeda
“Cosmic trippy disco deep house vibes from another galexy. Be Svendsen truly has a unique style of his own that I absolutely love. This is from his new album, which came out on one of my all-time favorite labels – Music for Dreams. I highly recommend checking the whole thing.”
Namito & Sabo ‘Glimmer of Hope’
“Sometimes you find the perfect rare dusty vinyl sample, but it takes 10 years to realize how to make a special track from it. ‘Glimmer of Hope’ came together in just two studio sessions with my friend Namito in his sweaty basement studio last summer in Berlin.”
Mark Alow ‘White Tusk’
This beautiful deep tribal house track from young up-and-coming Spanish producer, Mark Alow, is still moving hearts and minds across the globe. This is the best selling release of 2018, and for all time, for Sol Selectas Records.
Metrika ‘Yo Nací’ (Matanza Remix)
“The 1st release of 2019 on my label Sol Selectas – a beautifully deep remix by Chilean group Matanza of Mexican producer Metrika’s track ‘Yo Naci’. I cannot wait to play this one in the jungle at Envision Festival this year.”
Sabo & Amine K ‘Tiniri’
“This track is still really special to me since all the vocals and instruments were recorded on my first trip to Morocco. On that same trip together with Amine K, we came up with the idea of doing a party in the Sahara Desert, which is happening in April of this year.”
