The 15 Best Disco & Funk Tracks Of February 2025
February is a short month, but there were plenty of great disco & funk releases to keep our ears tingling! Let’s check out what made those 28 days special.
First, let’s celebrate the life of a man who made disco music his mission in life, Andy Williams, aka Yam Who?. We lost the Midnight Riot! label head, producer, DJ, father, and husband yesterday. You have gone to the eternal disco ball in the sky, but we are so grateful for the legacy of music you have left behind.

ASHRR – Please Don’t Stop The Rain (ASHRR Soundsystem Remix) [20/20 Vision Recordings]
ASHRR‘s 2024 LP Sunshine Low was chocked full of gems just waiting for their remixes. As the band has done in the past, they have taken on the remix duties themselves on the “Please Don’t Stop The Rain (ASHRR Soundsystem Remix), which adds a layer of 80s boogie/funk groove, creating a more atmospheric vibe. The bass has a distinctly John Taylor flavor (go back and listen to some early Duran Duran for reference). I hope we get to hear more remixes from this album, as its life deserves to be extended.
Sandy’s Groove & Discotron – A New Day [Tasty Recordings]
All of us can use a reminder that every day offers us new opportunities, and life is not meant to be lived in the past. Sandy’s Groove alongside Discotron offered up that bit of advice in February with “A New Day”, a smooth breath of fresh disco air. Check it out via Tasty Recordings now.
Heritage Listed – Strictly Love [Apparel Music]
You never know where you are going to find love, but in this case, Heritage Listed found it while DJing at a private rooftop party, and the songs on the Headspace EP were written to reflect that love. “Strictly Love” evokes those first blushes, soft and sweet. The addition of a hot sax solo doesn’t hurt the vibe either!
Anané – Let Me Be Your Fantasy (Dimitri From Paris Extended Remix) [Nervous Records]
Anané is a powerhouse DJ alongside her husband Louie Vega, but the world should be ready when she releases new music! “Let Me Be Your Fantasy” has received the royal remix treatment from some of the world’s top producers, and it should come as no surprise that Dimitri From Paris would give this track his classic disco touch! The entire remix package is not to be missed, with remixes from Masters At Work, Moplen, Mousse T, and more!
Peter Matson – White Noise feat. Kendra Morris [Bastard Jazz Recordings]
You may know Peter Matson from his time with Underground System, but Matson is ready for his solo debut with “White Noise”, featuring the sublime vocals of fellow Brooklynite Kendra Morris. Matson has produced music on Soul Clap, Razor-n-Tape, and others, so expect a legit indie-disco experience from his upcoming 2025 record!
Dave Kurtis & Larry Houl – Just A Little Bit Of You feat. Yasbadas (Giman & Chic_Ago Remix) [The Disco Express]
France’s Larry Houl is the perfect vocalist to sing on Dave Kurtis‘s “Just A Little Bit Of You”. The vocals are light, infectious and blend seamlessly over the jam. Giman & Chic_Ago add a little extra disco flair with their remix, making a fantastic dancefloor filler! Check it out on the Music Is For Lovers EP.
London Afrobeat Collective – My Way (Kiko Navarro Discoterraneo Instrumental) [London Afrobeat Productions]
Canopy Records label head Kiko Navarro has taken on the latest in a string of London Afrobeat Collective singles with his remixes of “My Way”. The Kiko Navarro Discoterraneo Instrumental remix does lose the original vocals but leaves behind pure, glossy afro-disco gold without them. This remix has a gentle, classic groove to it and feels right, day or night!
BAVHU & Husko – Ultrafunk (Disco Mix) [Lisztomania]
New Zealand duo BAVHU (Cam Bav and Kahu Murupaenga) have joined forces with Malta’s Husko to create the club-filling anthem “Ultrafunk”. The vocal mix is a true house banger, but with the vocals stripped away, we get to here the disco bones the track was built on. The song is full of gorgeous strings to complement the funk that makes it ultra-funky!
Da Lukas – In Motion Feat. Saucy Lady [The Disco Express]
Da Lukas gave us a little slice of boogie/disco heaven in February with “In Motion” featuring Saucy Lady at her very sauciest! This track has a driving groove with Saucy Lady bringing heat to the steamy vocals. Every part of this track pays homage to those early days of the 80s, so grab a headband and some leg warmers and hit the dancefloor!
Disco Sparks – Keep Your Eye On The Sparrow (Extended Mix) [Z Records]
Disco Sparks has always had a deep love for the 60s, 70s, and 80s soundtracks, so the remake of “Keep Your Eye On The Sparrow” is pure genius! This is NOT the Sammy Davis, Jr. Baretta Theme version! This version would still be more than welcome on any 70s soundtrack but is crafted to fill a modern-day dancefloor. It’s deeply funky, and the vocals are sung by the legendary disco singer Christine Wiltshire. There’s nothing not to love with this jam!
Disqobot – Corporate Disco feat. Nat Gilbert (Ladies On Mars Extended Remix) [Feverball]
Disqobot‘s “Corporate Disco” is the true definition of a slow burner. Ladies On Mars has kept the spirit of the original intact while adding enough disco strings and bass to make the track feel like the song you want to hear at the end of a long night out. The song asks you to dance, just dance, so I encourage you to do just that.
Jame Moorfield – Cat Fight [Sundries]
In a world where we can all use some positivity, Jame Moorfield‘s “Cat Fight” provides an easy, relaxing disco vibe that will elevate your spirits! This song sails through your ears like a cool breeze and will make you long for long days full of sun and fun!
Tommy Glasses – On The Dancefloor (Extended Mix) [Tinted Records]
Tommy Glasses is back with his joyous track “On The Dancefloor”, where we can all be our best selves. The vocals are silky and powerful at the same time, blending seamlessly with the groove. Let’s get all hearts on the dancefloor to this jam!
Morttimer Snerd III – Shoot Choo Down (Miggedy’s Dizko Slap) [Stephen B. Maskall]
Morttimer Snerd III‘s “Shoot You Down” has a chugging rhythm that is hypnotic from the opening notes. The Miggedy Dizko Slap remix sounds like you could have heard this track playing in the background while watching Saturday Night Fever. Bonus points for using a xylophone on this one!
Physical Education – Morning Comes (Risk Assessment Mix) [Househead London]
Physical Education and Risk Assessment have created a disco/house gem with “Morning Comes”. Just when you think the track is an instrumental, the sexy, soulful vocal kicks in at 1:35 and tells you what this song is about, love and desire. You are going to want to have a special someone next to you when you play this song!
