Kendrick Lamar to perform new music in Milan this summer

The TDE rapper is on the line-up for Milano Summer Festival.

Kendrick Lamar is set to perform tracks from his new album at the Milan event on 23 June. The festival’s website says, “dove suonerà i pezzi del nuovo album”, which translates to, “where he will play pieces of the new album”. Pre-sale tickets are available from 15 February, with general admission going on sale the next day.

Last Sunday (13 February), Kendrick Lamar led the Super Bowl’s half-time performance, where he played the track Alright from 2015’s To Pimp a Butterfly. There was some speculation beforehand that the rapper would debut new music during his half-time show.

In August, Lamar announced that he was working on his “final TDE album“. The announcement was shared to the site oklama.com, which led users to a folder titled ‘nu thoughts’. A post inside stated: “I feel joy to have been a part of such a cultural imprint after 17 years. The Struggles. The Success. And most importantly, the Brotherhood. May the Most High continue to use Top Dawg as a vessel for candid creators. As I continue to pursue my life’s calling.”

Earlier this year, in January, the rapper announced that he’s working on an untitled live-action comedy – a collaboration with Dave Free and South Park’s Matt Stone and Trey Parker. It’s written by Vernon Chatman for Lamar and Free’s media company pgLang.
