Bodo Kaiser is breathing fresh energy into his collaboration with Christina Novelli, 'Heartless', with the arrival of a brand-new remix from Robbie Seed. Released today via AVA Recordings, the track arrives as the latest reimagining of the original March production, which explored themes of resilience and independence following heartbreak. You can find the new remix available across all major streaming platforms.
While the SICKCODE & MONET remix previously pushed the track into darker, more subterranean territory, Robbie Seed’s take is firmly rooted in the uplifting trance style, designed specifically for listeners who crave high-intensity emotional peaks. Reflecting on the evolution of the record, we sat down with Bodo Kaiser to discuss the creative journey behind 'Heartless' and his experience working with such a prominent vocalist.
Kaiser explained that the process was rooted in a desire for balance. He aimed to combine a driving, club-ready energy with a human element that would resonate on a deeper level. The producer noted that he prefers to keep initial ideas minimal, allowing the track to develop organically rather than forcing a specific direction. When it came to the instrumental foundation, Kaiser focused on creating a clean, progressive soundscape before inviting Novelli to contribute.
"Christina is an artist I've wanted to work with for a long time — I've always been a big fan of her work," Kaiser shared. "Because of that, I didn't want to rush it. I waited until I felt like I had the right instrumental that could really match her style and do her voice justice."
He emphasized that the vocal was not merely an addition but a central component that shaped the track’s final identity. According to Kaiser, the biggest challenge in modern production is ensuring a song translates effectively across both club systems and personal streaming devices. While the club environment demands immediate physical impact, streaming requires an emphasis on atmospheric detail and emotional depth.
"'Heartless' sits right in the middle of that range," Kaiser noted. "It's versatile enough to fit into different moments of a set, whether it's building energy or maintaining a certain groove. That's what makes it special to me."
With the release of the Robbie Seed remix, Kaiser hopes to provide even more opportunities to feature the song in his sets, catering to fans of both progressive and uplifting sounds. The track continues to serve as a cornerstone of his current output, reflecting the diverse moods he explores during his live performances.
