Bristol’s Simple Things announces winter 2021 programme
The Bristol festival and promoter has also unveiled a number of shows set to take place early next year.
Berlin-based artist Lyra Pramuk get proceedings underway this weekend, hot on the trail of her critically-acclaimed 2020 Fountain LP and her recent remix album Delta. With classical composer training and an otherworldly sound, Pramuk will perform live at Strange Brew on 24 October. The following night (25 October), Jockstrap will play out at The Louisiana with a handful of supporting acts.
Simple Things returns to Strange Brew on 20 November to host Hyperdub signee AYA’s im hole album launch party. She’ll be joined on the night by artist and filmmaker Sweatmother, with the pair treating revellers to an audiovisual performance.
Looking ahead to 2022, Anatolian rock band Altin Gün will perform at Thekla on 9 February. The following month, in March, highlights include a night at Trinity Centre with NUXXE co-founder Shygirl (6 March), a performance from Tirzah at Fiddler’s (14 March) and a much-anticipated appearance from Warp’s Yves Tumor & Its Band at Strange Brew (5 March). As we head further into the spring months, Viagra Boys will bring their live show to Motion on 12 May.
Elsewhere in Bristol, local label Livity Sound is touching down at Trinity Centre tomorrow (23 October) with the likes of Peach, Al Wootton, Parris and Giant Swan’s Robin Stewart locked in. Next month, on 26 November, Crack Magazine is excited to be throwing a party with Objekt at Band Studios.
Additionally, party crew Alfresco Disco will host their next “subterranean adventure” – dubbed ‘The Underground‘ – on 4 December at a secret city centre location.
